Conventional portraits with photographic references are re-invented in these works through drawing painting, and constructed composition, using heightened colour and narrative and symbolic images added to give clues as to who the subject is, and what do they do and know.

Oil on acrylic-primed MDF woodpanel. 75cm x 55cm. 1999. Pained 'in one hit' in x2 2hr modelling sessions with Chris Hibbert, (at Bavent Rd studio, Camberwell). Hibbert created the 'B-Jazz' dance style which incorporates elements of UK Jazz-dance with Hip Hop and Contemporary dance. In collection of Zeit!Raum, Vienna.
